Stability and Goodbyes

Since the day Corbyn was born he has been on quite a busy adventure.  He spent his first 3 months in San Diego where his dad was away for a month of it, then Texas for 7 months away from dad, back to San Diego for 5 weeks, Newport RI for 5 weeks, a short stop on Long Island for 2 weeks, and ending our last couple weeks in the states in Corpus Christi, TX.  Additionally he has traveled to many places for short trips and long stays with our family in New York.  He has slept in so many different cribs. pack 'n' plays, and beds that I can’t even begin to count.  Just as Corbyn’s  starts to get to know someone, it is time to go.  Yep, part of the life style.  Which is why I am so very proud of him and how flexible he has been.  Anyone who has a baby or has traveled with one knows it isn’t the easiest thing.
I am sure hoping all this traveling will help with our trek across the world to our new home.

So needless to say we are longing for stability, for a routine, for consistency,  for a normal ( as normal it can be) day to day life, to eat at our favorite local restaurant, to go to our church on Sunday, to take Corbyn to the same boring park, to watch Corbyn make friends,  ….you get the point.

Don’t get me wrong, we have enjoyed spending time with our loved ones tremendously! More than words can ever EVER express.   God has blessed us with memories that will last a life time.  From watching Corbyn fall in love with both sets of grandparents, to being able to laugh with my girlfriends.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world!! However, there is a light at the end of this "gypsy family” tunnel and as silly as it sounds I can’t wait to unpack all of our stuff.  It will be interesting to see what makes it to Bahrain seeing as how our packing went.

But gaining stability at this point comes with having to say goodbye.  Yea, yea, yea it’s a see you later! I know, I know…..but really no matter how you put it, the goodbye is just no fun. They never get easier and this one is just a tad harder then all the other goodbyes. However, I am sure I will already be planning when our first trip back will be soon after we are settled, which shouldn’t be surprising if you know me well.

So here we are 6 days until take off time! Of course we are planning on soaking up this time with our loved ones (especially the grandparents)!

and...Oh yeah,  did I mention in the last month and a half of our travels Mr. Corbyn has worked on another 8 teeth.  His molars and his canines.  A total of 16 for this 13 month old.  So here's some good old teething humor.
