Staying Connected and Staying Busy

In hopes to keep Corbyn well aware of the fact that he has amazing family members miles away I have made him magnet people.  I found this on pinterest about a year ago.  About the same time I found the idea to make a board book of Bryan & Corbyn while he was on deployment. Both great ideas I was happy to find!

I ordered 5x7 sticker magnet sheets from Amazon and printed out pictures.  I am assuming you can buy them at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Walmart...but of course we don't have those awesome stores here.  Very easy project that Corbyn really loves.  I love watching him play with them and talk to them.  It makes my heart happy.  I started with great grandparents, grandparents, uncles, aunt, and cousins.  Whether your family is a city away, states away, or countries away I think it is great way to make them part of your daily life.

We continue to introduce arts and crafts to my 16 month old and he still likes to taste test.  I am not sure when that stops.

Speaking of taste testing we bought a bullet here (mini blender) because ours didn't make it in the move.  I have started to make Corbyn smoothies in the morning packed with spinach and carrots (along with fruit, yogurt, and water).  Why not veggies for breakfast?  He slurps it down quick.  This kid eats a ton for breakfast.  So in case someone else has a hard time loading up your little one in the morning this has worked for us along with everything else he eats in the morning!

Because it has been so windy out I tried this with the kiddo.  Another idea from pinterest.

Of course the clothes had to come off bc he pretty much dove in.

As far as activities for us to stay busy with here in Bahrain it seems unlimited between play dates, story time, play areas, parks, the library, and all the other fun facilities to explore.  That's my favorite thing about Bahrain so far.
