Put A Smile On Your Face
Living Bahrain is different than I expected. For the most part the people I am in contact with are not local. The people I interact with come here to work for very little, leave their family in their native country, and still manage to have a smile. I have found myself convicted as I throw a pity party about life’s bumps in the road. They put it into perspective and I hope to never forget this experience throughout my life. I for one can’t imagine leaving my kid so I can find work and provide for them. They wash your car, do yard work, clean your house, babysit your childeren , etc all for little to nothing. What happens when we leave? They are off to find new work, hoping someone will need a little help.
For the most part they are not only hard workers but they
love kids. That is refreshing!
I love watching
Corbyn run to his buddies on the maintenance team of our community yelling "friend" as they raise him in the air. This guy is his favorite but the others will step in if he isn't around.
I also adore watching this young man(Handyman, car washer, yard
man) go out of his way to talk to Corbyn and then proceed to take him to the
car for me just because he loves kids and Corbyn will humor him.
Our maid/babysitter always has a big smile on when she sees
Corbyn.
This is our normal here.
I also want to tell you about how very adorable it is to watch the
little school girls at the park hover over all the American kiddos when we visit.
I mean it’s like getting a free babysitter. They follow them around helping them and we can sit back and watch.
On another note we are off on another adventure tomorrow! We are heading to the sweet smell of America and couldn't be more excited. Well, I take that back. We would be if Bryan was coming with us. Instead he is going to stay here and bust his tail for our family. Yep, we are proud. In his free time he will be studying for an upcoming test! Now, get to studying Bryan. I will eat a slice of that good Long Island Pizza for you. See you tomorrow America!
