Striving to be a fun mom
Lately I have felt a bit sluggish…blame it on the pregnancy, blame it on the heat, but honestly both excuses in the end. I have been slacking a little on being the fun mom I have strived to be in the past. Here’s the thing, it’s only going to get harder as we welcome another
little one into the world. So I want to challenge myself to laugh more and play
more with Corbyn. If you are
feeling the same way please join me.
The sweetest words out of his mouth are, “you are silly mommy.” aside from, “I love you mommy.” When he tells me I am silly with his
big smile and adorably funny voice I know I am doing a good job. Yes, believe me, I know there is a time
for seriousness. If I was silly all the time our house would be chaos. There is a balance and I know the
balance, I just have to strive to get back there. Just like anybody I have my moments and my days where I am short tempered and feel overwhelmed. We all do, but honestly we are only promised so many. A friend of mine got my wheels turning
as she just had her 2nd baby.
She told me her best advice was to enjoy all the snuggles I have with
just Corbyn. To really soak it
in! Just the two of us. I couldn’t
appreciate that advice more. I am
ready to snuggle and kiss him until he gets annoyed, make crazy faces, laugh
while I am running in circles, make messes, do cannonballs into the pool, dance
until I am silly, play cars and crash into each other, build forts and soon snowmen :)…... Now this might take a cup and half of coffee as opposed to one cup, but I am okay with that!
God has truly blessed me and sometimes I may take that for
granted because it’s the easy thing to do. Being a stay at home mom is more than I could ever ask for. The best part about all this is that Corbyn still thinks I am the coolest, silliest, sweetest, best
mommy in the world. He always
will. Now that, that is something
to be thankful for.
