On the beautiful marvelous night you were born……
Dearest Tristyn,
Your birth was a star moment in our lives. You couldn’t have been more perfect for
our family. I want to tell you all
about the day you born because it was great day indeed. We spent the morning walking around the
Space Museum with your brother…correction the boys walked and I waddled. We were so anxious to greet you that we
thought maybe some fresh air and moving around would help. It was a very cold
winter day and it was two days before your due date. Your brother enjoyed the outing very
much. The weather was clear so we
decided to take a small trip to the park before our date that evening. Move around a little more since we had
been cooped up so much this winter.
We headed home quickly as I needed to look presentable for your daddy
since this would be our last date before your arrival. Our friends were so kind to let your
brother come over and play while we went to a nice steak house. I started contracting but thought it
was probably false. We sat down
for dinner and I drank water in hopes that it would pass at least until we
finished up. Well once you decided
you were ready to join us you came fast and furious. My contractions went from 5 to 3 to 2 min apart all within
an hour. Needless to say we had to
wrap up our dinner and be on our way. On the way home your dad missed the exit
and went the wrong way so we were both frustrated.
Then he decided to add light to the situation and sing me “Monkey
Wrench” since it was on the radio which in retrospect was quite funny because that evening you were a monkey
wrench during our date. However,
in the moment I didn’t think it was funny and I may have raised my voice at
your dad to stop. We made it home
and got everything set up for Corbyn and our friends arrived quickly to
help. As we made our way to the
hospital we called to inform them of the situation. The nurse made it seem as though it was silly for me to come
but she said, “well your on your way so just go ahead and come”. The hospital was 30 minutes away. About
an hour after I arrived and many contractions later, the doctor checked me and
was very surprised because I was definitely in labor. We got a room right away while the nurse said, “Oh you knew
alright”. Mommy did not want to
talk at this point but she tried to carry on a conversation. About another hour later I finally
received an epidural but it took many shots of getting the IV and the epidural
in. Then I could relax darling. Modern medicine is a beautiful
thing. My mom, your grandma, told
me to go for it as I was thinking about doing it all natural.
She gave birth to your Uncle Jason and I naturally. I took the advice from the
pro and I once again was pleased.
It was only a matter of hours until you were born and the contractions did not slow down. Once I was ready to push you joined us
after 3 sets of pushes in just under 5 min. I definitely think I benefited from working out the entire
pregnancy. I shed tears of joys as
soon as I laid eyes on you. What a
beautiful boy with all that golden hair!! Your brother’s prediction was correct my love, you slid right
out and you were happy. You are
now five weeks old and such a beautiful delight! You were already
smiling a lot by day two. You have beautiful
dreams my baby because you smile a lot while sleeping too! It’s not gas because
your gas comes with grunts and you have plenty of it. You had your nights down right away and to be honest I was
quite worried about the amount you were sleeping. Since you were right on weight I didn’t wake you to eat all
the time. You are thriving and we are actually getting some sleep. Your brother was born early and dropped
weight in the beginning so it was more important for him to eat and that he
did. I had some medical issues
with Corbyn and it all worked out beautifully but going into natural labor was
an experience I am so grateful for.
Although my nights were spent moving and wiggling around in bed trying
to get comfortable, as most pregnant mommies do towards the end, I couldn’t be
happier about cooking you so perfectly.
Love,
Mom
